Tenerife
- Playa Olid Apartments - Playa de las
Americas
Clean and spacious room, and a fully equipped
kitchen, Stayed for 14 nights and the towels and
linen were changed every day apart from 1 day, and
when I rang to reception they sent a maid up with
clean towels. The pools were good, not too big but
not too small to be overcrowded. The mini market in
the hotel was not that expensive and the prices in
the bar were reasonable, but best to get your own
soft drinks from the on site shop. I will recommend
this property to friends and family and possibly go
again later this year. A great holiday in Tenerife
and a genuine 3 star property. |

- Playa Olid Apartments - Playa de las
Americas
This is the 2nd time we have stayed at the Playa
Olid, and on reflection I would have to recommend
the following on your booking. Try to get a high
floor room, they seem to be a bit better furnished
from when I stayed last time, and if you want a
really quiet time lounging by the pool, use the pool
at the back of the hotel - it is much quieter. The
apartment had everything we needed and the hotel
staff were very helpful. |

- Caledonia Park Aparthotel - Playa de
las Americas
Booked the holidays without reading the reviews,
after looking at them I was going to cancel, glad i
did not, not sure what some people expect on
holiday. This was all inclusive holiday with hot
food, plentiful drinks and hot snacks for the kids,
the entertainment was ok. The pool was clean as was
our room. There are a lot of holiday companies at
this hotel and some of the other guests were moaning
about their rep, but ours was fine and helped put us
on the right track for cheap car hire whilst on the
island. If you are expecting 5 star luxury do not
book this hotel, however if you are looking for a
comfortable place to stay for under £400 for an
adult you won't go far wrong here. Ignore holiday
reviews that slate this hotel and try it for
yourself. |

- Malibu Park Apartments - Playa de
las Americas
This is a nice family orientated hotel opposite the
water park, and not far from the main strip of las
Americas. Our room was nice with living room area,
shower and bath together, kitchen and bedroom. The
pool bar serves a wide range of nice cheap food and
the booze was cheap as well. The nightlife around
the area is good, although a short walk down a hill,
ok going down but coming back after a couple of
drinks can be a pain, so get the taxi back and save
on your legs. A decent holiday and would probably go
back again. |

- Las Floritas Apartments - Playa de las Americas
Thanks to Thomas Cook - this is a great hotel and
from what I have been told very underrated, did not
hear 1 single complaint on holiday, never found a
cockroach and the place was spotless all the time.
We had a 2 bedroom apartment as there were 5 of us,
but we could have fitted another 2 the room was so
good, only downside was that the rooms were only
cleaned twice a week, but that was the only
downside. The holiday was great and the excursions
are good, we went to Siam Park for the day - a MUST.
This hotel is great to get away from it all, and
close enough to the beach and shops to get back to
the fun of the island if you want to |

Not a bad hotel for the money, although the food was
a bit bland but plentiful and the kids loved it,
lots of games to keep the kids occupied, would
return. |

Gran Canaria -
Puerto Rico - Sol y Paz
To say this hotel is basic is an understatement, but
what can I expect for a holiday for a week that cost
£250 for 2 of us. Even though the hotel was basic,
it was clean and tidy. Furniture could do with a bit
of refreshment but if you are going on holiday to
pick fly's out of the hotel go to a 4star. This is
prefect if you want a base to just put your head
down at the end of the night. Puerto Rico is a
great base as there are some very good restaurants
and bars. A very good holiday with basic
accommodation at a price that was not going to break
the bank. |

Maspalomas Hotel Cay Beach Meloneras
Booked this through Sunset Holidays and flew from
Birmingham with Thomas Cook. The hotel was very
nice, in a quiet area and only a very short walk to
the beach, restaurants, nightlife and shops of the
main resort area of Maspalomas. The hotel had its
own hotel kids club which was good for our 6 year
old. The room was very big and plenty of space to
put our cases and everything else. The resort is
nice but the English seemed to be in a minority,
with a lot of Dutch and German holiday makers,
although at the hotel we only encountered English
guests. On the 1 occasion we did need the services
of a Sunset holidays rep, they were there (out of
hour) with an hour. Sunset holidays really did help
make this an enjoyable week for our summer holiday.
Would like to come back again to the same hotel in a
couple of years. |

Lanzarote - Sun
Park Apartments - Playa Blanca
Stayed at the hotel for a week, the weather was good
and had a good time. We went with Sunset holiday on
a self catering basis this year, as previously we
had been on all inclusive at the Sun Park. This time
we ventured out about to the local seafront
restaurants in Playa Blanca and although sometimes
the food was a bit pricey it was worth it - you get
what you pay for anyway the same as here, if you
basic try a burger from Burger King. The hotel is
only about 500m from Playa Dorada beach and not very
far to the centre of Playa Blanca for the nightlife.
The pool was a freeform and was cleaned regularly.
The hotel has a supermarket which was not that
expensive. The towels were only changed and couple
of times as standard during the stay so take your
own, or do what the other guest did and complain to
the sunset holidays rep, this will get you another
fresh set. All in all a very pleasant holiday and if
the prices stay cheap and I still get a free kids
place next year I will go back again. |

Fuerteventura - Villa
Florida Apartments. August
Just had a wonderful week away, close to the beach,
with shops and bars close by. coin operated tv was a
bit expensive, but did not go on holiday to watch tv,
plenty of sunshine, booze was cheap, food was ok.
Will return again, August 2009 |

Majorca - Club
Bellevue - Alcudia
What a great holiday just returned from the Club
Bellevue and wanted to thank the staff from Sunset
who were at the hotel. This hotel was great, we
stayed with the all inclusive option, the food was
good and plentiful. The hotel is in a good area for
restaurants and shops, not far from Alcudia's beach
although we stayed by the pools most of the time.
The kids loved the mini disco and the entertainment
and the Dizzy kids club, the apartment was very nice
as I believe they have just been refurbished, all in
all a very comfortable place to stay and have a
holiday. |

Majorca -
Callas de Mallorca - Aparthotel Club Eurocalas
Just got back, what a wonderful time for not a lot
of money. All inclusive with good food and drinks.
Lots of evening entertainment and plenty to do in
the day. The hotel reps from Thomas Cook were
especially friendly and were a great help in letting
us know where to go to get away from the hustle and
bustle of Majorca. The holiday started really well
as the transfer bus had the best rep ever, who gave
us a running commentary of the areas we were passing
through and explained about Majorcan snow (blossom).
The hotel is really family orientated with plenty of
choices for adults and children, even the most fussy
of children could find something. Never been on an
all inclusive before and it was a godsend not having
the kids coming up asking for asking for ice cream
and drinks every 5 mins, I would recommend all
inclusive to everyone with kids. The hotel is very
clean, and it seemed as though there was always
someone walking around cleaning, and we also had
lots of clean towels and a good supply of them.

Majorca -
Magaluf - Marina Pax
Stayed at Marina Pax
in Magaluf, Majorca last year, this hotel is all
inclusive, the hotel has a good mini disco for the
kids, the kids food was good, there is a games room
for the older kids with a pool table. The food was
the same as at most other all inclusive hotels we
have stayed in, so if you want a change it is best
to go out into Magaluf. Room was not huge but large
enough for my family of 2 adults and 2 kids, and the
single beds meant i got a rest during the holiday,
lol. |

TURKEY Altinkum - Esra
Apartments
Nice hotel especially for families, this is a self
catering hotel, but because nice food we upgraded to
half board. The hotel was nice and clean with
restaurant and a poolside bar. The beach is very
nice and sandy, nice holiday and would go back to
Altinkum again. |

Turkey - Kusadasi -
Derici Hotel
What a wonderful hotel, the room had a balcony,
music sat TV and a decent bathroom. We decided on
the half board option and we are glad that we did as
the food was good value and plentiful, even the kids
enjoyed it. The best thing about the hotel is the
rooftop pool and terrace with great views of the
area. The linen and towels were changed daily and it
is definitely a place to return to in the future. |

KOS Kos Town - Lenaki
Apartments
If you are looking for just a base that is
comfortable then the Lenaki is great, this property
is about 1km from the centre of Kos and the beach.
The hotel has a pool and snack bar. Good size pool
and playground for the kids. Very basic hotel, great
for couples but not really for families as the kids
i saw on my holiday were getting pretty bored. |

Cyprus - Ayia Napa -
Anthea Apartments
Anthea Apartments Ayia Napa with Sunset holidays is
one of the best holidays I have been on! The Rooms
were cleaned everyday but one, the towels are
changed twice a week. Hotel staff very friendly and
accommodating at all times! so if extra changes are
needed they are fine. There are 3 pools the big pool
being is the most lively with continuous music
throughout the day. There are good facilities in the
apartments to cook but it is just as cheap to eat
out. Lots of drinks available at the pool bar or
main bar served throughout the day. The bar in the
main hotel also doubles as a Karaoke bar in the
evening and is open till very early in the morning.
Air con is a must for the rooms as they get very
hot. Anthea Apartments was a very enjoyable holiday
and as the hotel is only 5 mins from Nissi beach in
a taxi with great watersports I will definatley go
back |

Zante - Laganas -
Hotel Ikaros
I have just returned from this hotel, and must admit
I was a bit worried before I went after my husband
pointed out some reviews on Holiday review websites.
Anyway I was pleasantly surprised after expected to
find the hotel from hell. The Hotel is very laid
back, just off the strip and close the sandy beach.
The room was basic but clean and tidy and was
cleaned every day. The food was good and lots of
choice. The pool was great with nice clean water and
lots of sun beds. Good hotel bar which served great
cocktails and also had a good choice of food during
the day. Some great places to eat whilst on holiday
all very close to the hotel, but possibly the best
was the spaghetti shop which did great homemade
pizza. |

Bulgaria -
Sunny Beach
- Laguna Park Hotel
Close to the beach and within walking distance of
the Sunny beach resort. Our room was comfortable and
clean. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and
this was fine, the breakfast was not brilliant but
it was enough to keep you topped up until lunch,
although i still found myself popping out for a full
English breakfast down the road. Sunny beach is a
great location and there is lots ot do whilst on
holiday in Bulgaria, the beer was cheap at only 2
levs in the hotel and the room even had a minibar
with drinks that you get billed for. Lots of
families with children aged about 10-14 so my 2 kids
had something to do and met a couple of friends
whilst on holiday, which helps make the adults
holiday a little bit better. |

Cuba - Varadero
- Hotel Palma Reef
The hotel description says it is bright - that is
very true. It is set in its own gardens and easy
walking distance to the shops and bars. My room was
bright and clean. All inclusive hotel and the food
was very good and lots of it with always something
good to eat. The hotel has a great bar and serves
some really special drinks. Nightly entertainment
was great lots of crowd interaction and loads of
laughs. Great to see all the old cars in Cuba, took
a day trip to Havanna and topped up with some Cuban
cigars to bring home as presents. I did find out
that Cuba does not take debit cards and they prefer
Sterling to dollars. A great hotel, great holiday
and real value for money. The only complaint I have
with the hotel complex is that the pool water was
very cold. |
